being uncomfortable becomes easier when you realize that’s literally the point. it’s like working out. if you work out & it becomes easy for you, you already got all you could out of that workout. your body adjusted & is strong enough to handle it now. you’re not improving anymore. that’s why you up the ante with harder workouts, where you’re uncomfortable & not quite strong enough yet. bc eventually you will be strong enough. but if it’s not a challenge, there’s no gain. & that’s exactly how it is with situations out of your comfort zone. the more you put yourself in them, the easier they get—but that in-between phase where you’re struggling is still completely valid and ok and natural. it’s what’s supposed to happen. it’s what’s going to change you as a person. and you should keep doing it

I am fascinated by how, in the Bridgerton Extanded Universe, everyone is in a period drama EXCEPT the Bridgerton family, who is in a romantic comedy.

The scene where the three ladies were talking and Violet went 'oh love helps' and they looked at her like what. the. fuck.

I keep saying Violet DOES NOT UNDERSTAND how the world actually works because her perception has been so distorted by finding her true love immediately, and watching all of her kids find extremely unlikely love matches on a timeline of her choosing. Lady has NO IDEA she is a statistical anomaly, and when people look to her like "Hey how did you Bridgertons manage so many love matches?" she pulls a full Elle Woods. "What, like it's hard?"

Not only having pulled a love match of high status, but for the sake of the plot they seem to have A LOT of money/inheritance/property put together from both their sides - the men in particular (especially younger ones with nothing to inherit realistically) don't really worry about dowries or status which is as unrealistic as can be for most people of high class in their situation.

(I didn't read all books to make that assumption or know if the author explains it, but I'll just go ahead and for the sake of the plot conclude Violet was an only child and heiress herself so possibly even younger sons have something to inherit upon the parents' will to do so rather than pass it all to the eldest for the entire family to - afford to - be with their heads in the clouds like this).
